Why is this important?

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, which makes it a public health concern. Suicide is preventable and everyone has a role to play. Thoughts of suicide or actions are a sign of extreme emotional distress and a sign to get help as soon as possible. There is no single cause of suicide, but rather complex risk factors that affects people of all genders, ages, and ethnicities.
